performance differences between '87 and '92 200

Agreed 100% Onkel. The HP ratings and torque curves are the same stock. A stick might make a perception difference as you note, but after all gets you to the end of the block just as quickly.

I've had a few 240s from 79 to 91 and the only ones which had significantly differing performance are the turbocharged cars. Or that 91 we bought with the timing belt a tooth off :-)
