Where are all the volvos going?

There's no question the supply has gotten thinner over the past few years. Cars get taken off the road for many reasons-- people just abandon them--give up on repairs--move--lose titles--pass away. In the past two months I've collected 3 - an '89 auto 245-owner died, relatives could not find the title--now a running storage shed/parts car----an '89 245 M47-owner left it at a shop with a bad transmission-no title----and a '90 244 auto with light front end damage-also left at a shop (luckily with open title). The m47 wagon will supply the body parts needed to fix the 244.
My favorite abandoned car story -- friend of our shop saw a '76 265 on the side of a county road. In big letters with spray paint--"TAKE ME" on the side. He did and left it with us. Before it got scrapped I checked the rear--scored a limited slip unit which now lives in my '69 144S. -- Dave
