Around eight years ago, a number of comments on this board appeared with a pronounced teenage tone to them, indicating that Dad had finally bequeathed his old 240/740/940 to Junior who proceeded to try to figure out how to hotrod the car. We've passed through that and it appears that on both Brickboard and Turbobricks we've got the long-haul crew who intend to drive the cars until the rust reaches the roof line. That is a much smaller and more committed group. I also know that yards were crushing cars far more quickly due to the high price of scrap. While scrap prices are down, so is the demand for old Volvo body parts. Hence we'll find fewer carcasses in yards, but many will still have their parts in storage so things like ECUs, etc will be available for a long time to come.
I know my kids in New York City, driving their beautiful 1992 940, are regularly stopped by admirers and receive offers to buy on the spot.
