So, to quickly clarify Eric's description...

If the marks align and the woodruff keys in both the crank and cam fit, you're golden :) There is only one way they go together, so as said, if the cam stays in, you can't get it 180 degrees off.

And if doing the cam too, and you get the distributor drive in backwards, just swap plug wires north to south, south to north and east to west, west to east.
