Sounds as though you may be worrying too much. The gears only go on one way and the repair book illustrations as far as cam timing are pretty explicit. If the cam is getting changed too then in the worst case the distributor drive may be clocked wrong -- easily dealt with either by rearranging the plug wires at the cap--or setting the drive correctly. -- Dave
