Test light is not a tool to test for grounds 200 1986

I agree with other posters. Get a multimeter.

Test light is no tool to test for grounds. Its to test the supply side of a circuit - the power side - to see if power actually reaches there. And this includes simple testing whatever there is on the chain of supply side - fuse, wires, cable, etc.

Test light is sort of crude instrument. You could get full or less than full illumination and you'll be guessing how much power is actually there. Get a multimeter.
