1994 940 Volvo Will Not Start

Hi. This is Paula, Andrew's wife. He actually passed away from liver cancer on March 24. He was the "keeper of our Volvos" and now that torch has been passed to me and I want to figure this out so any help would be greatly appreciated.

My 1994, 940 Turbo started sputtering and spurting day before yesterday, so I had to drive our truck to work. When I got home, I tried it again and it ran perfectly. Got in it the next day and now it will not run at all. Will turnover and tries to crank, but, according to my brother-in-law, it seems it is not getting any gas or firing properly.

Do you have any suggestions for what I might check? I was thinking the fuel system but don't know exactly where that is and my brother-in-law doesn't know either.
