check engine light 900 1993

Hi Dom's940,

When you check the OBD for codes, could you list the codes the red light flashes out. Do you repeat the check to verify you have encountered all set fault codes in socket 2 (fuel injection) and socket 6 (ignition).

The number code helps us.

If indeed the ECT, there exist ways of ECT sensor removal without pulling the intake manifold. Yet as you have Turbo, perhaps that limits room. I found the method of ECT removal and replace in a YouTube video.

Unless a sensor or device has fully failed, engine control compensates for a fault, making some manner of fault tolerance or forgiveness. With your electrical multimeter you may need to verify the fault cause. Indeed, give a connector a wiggle as grime or corrosion could prevent an engine control computer a poor signal.

Yet as Spook and other say be your guide.
