B30 engine issues? 140-160

I'm looking at buying a 164, I've had many other Volvos, but not in several years. One Volvo friend suggested there are issues with the B30, yet all it is is a B20 with 2 more cylinders AFAIK, and those last forever. He's gone quiet on me, so I don;'t know what he means.
Anyone want to enlighten me?
