B30 engine issues? 140-160

Hello,

Gasket sets are still available as are most if not all of the special to B30 individual gaskets and seals like oil pan, cylinder head, valve cover and intake/exhaust manifold gaskets.

Although most of the D-jet components aren't available new except for NOS(New Old Stock), there are workarounds for all of them including having some items like the ECU and the vacuum pressure sensor rebuilt. There is now a replacement PC board to repair the throttle switch which we install and test ourselves.

We can still get new water and air temperature sensors and new main injectors. A reproduction wiring harness is also available.

New cheap universal fuel pumps are available, but require modifications to install, sometimes needing an inline fuel pump check valve. These cheap fuel pumps usually don't last long so we sell a brand new high quality replacement fuel pump that is almost a bolt in replacement. The only extra work required to install this fuel pump is the removal of the wires from the plastic insulator attached to the end of the stock wiring harness.

The main injectors can be serviced and restored to operating condition as well as the cold start injector.

I believe there is a replacement set of contact trigger points that might be able to installed on the original mounting plate, but it appears to be very expensive. The correct version of the 123Ignition distributor has the trigger contacts built in and is a probably a better overall alternative.

The thermal timer for the cold start injector can be bypassed for cold starts.

Right now, the main obstacle is the lack of a known good easy replacement for the fuel pressure regulator which is the later version.

We have a bolt in aftermarket non-Bosch replacement for the later fuel pressure regulator that was intended for a BMW, but it isn't adjustable and we haven't had a guinea pig customer car to test it on yet.

There now is a reasonably priced replacement for the early style of fuel pressure regulator used on the 1970-1971 Volvos with D-jet that is adjustable and we have sold a few and installed them and they are in fact a bolt in even using the original mounting nut. It would require some mods to the hose routing and fabricating a mounting bracket, but I'm pretty sure the early version fuel pressure regulator could be installed instead.
