Re: How long to cool down turbos before turning engine off?

I have had three different mechanics tell me that if you have a water-cooled turbo, you don't have to worry about cool-down. I do try to drive gently the last mile or two before I park it, but I don't let it idle for more than a few seconds (waste of gas to let it idle for minutes).

I do run Mobil 1 in both my turbocharged Volvos, because I don't think any dino oils can really hold up for long in a turbo environment.
