$230 is way too much and $7K is ridiculous.

Maybe first place to start is Better Business Bureau,

or your insurance carrier. They may be able to negotiate

a settlement.

Some cars have a thing that kills the electric fuel pump on

impact, or maybe the wiring to it is damaged. That'd be the

place to start.

When I was in Panama they told me not to get into a taxi till

I had agreed on a price with the driver. This might be a good

idea for towing agencies also!
