A carburated engine in 1992? That would be a surprise, given that 740's were fuel injected from day one (1985 or so) in Canada, and BMW bikes with Bosch multi-port injection go back as far as 1984 or so. Ditto for VW's from '86 or earlier.
We Canadians hung onto manual transmissions longer than the States, but I think that carburators went out here at about the same time as in the States. If there really were carburated 240's that late, I feel vindicated in my otherwise nit-picking claims that the 700 is a much more modern car.
