Re: Electrical problem in ignition switch? 700 1989

the grease and springs in teh switches where out, volkswagon switches are even worse for this, every single porsche 924 and volkswagon rabbit all of the same crapworthy switches, and each and every one i have pulled apart and found an old stiff spring in it, not the actual spring that springs the key back into position but another spring that gets in the way of the sliding movement when old and stiff, im not sure how easy you can take these switches apart but if you can go for it otherwise yes get a new switch...maybe try one from a pick your part yard for cheap...
