I have a 1990 model of volvo 740. The car has only one problem that has been bothering me for the last 4 years; the car stalls at the stop sign or in the slow traffic causing a safety hazard. This happens once every one or two weeks. I have taken the car to the VOLVO dealer numerous times for fixing of this problem. The dealer that I take to is located in Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
After spending over $1,000 and numerous trips, it appears to me that the mechanic at this dealership do not have a clue what could be wrong with the car. They randomly change the parts. The problem goes away for a week or so and again appears. I have kept all the records and receipts for the parts that have been fixed for the same problem.
I would like to know if it is a design problem with the 1990 year model of Volvo 740 or the mechanics at this dealership are incompetent and what should I do next.
Thanks.
