Re: Connecting rods

Normally the Volvo lower end is indestructible unless seriously abused

or improperly assembled. I'd stick with OEM rods, as Volvo parts

are generally higher quality than most other kinds. Just be sure

and put it together with proper clearances and proper torques.

I've had several lower ends apart with over 200,000 miles and

no measurable wear. Admittedly they were pushrod engines, but I

think the same pretty much applies to at least the "red" OHC engines.
