As for starting your car with the A/C on, it has a delay built in to the relay. The A/C comp will not start till about 8-10 seconds after starting. The rotary switch is a thermostatic switch. When the temp at the evap reaches a predetermined piont, the comp cycles off. When evap temp rises, cycles back on. Red zone on the dial is maximum cool. If you want to bypass, there are 4 wires in the back of the switch. The 2 to the micro switch are to send a signal to the fuel system to increase idle speed. The other 2 are the A/C wires. (The micro-switch sits to one side, and is exposed)
