I have had this 89 245 for a year or so. My last car was a '91 244. the 91 had a simple on/off rocker switch. If the 89's knob adjusts something down in the bellows, how does the '91 work? With a fixed setting pressure switch I suppose?
thanks for all the help on this. I didn't know about the delay feature when starting the engine.
I saw this done on a '81 diesel 265 once. He had it so that he could turn the AC off quickly if climbing a steep hill in heavy traffic, and also for the very rare occasion that he might have to pass somebody. I too owned a '82 diesel once, but just avoided using the AC. I was one of the lucky ones. It has 230,000miles on it, and still 32mpg.
(It is not my intention to start a Diesel conversation!) :^)
