Hmmm, interesting possibility. But, I've only had to add a couple of cups of coolant since March (6000k miles)--and I live in Sacramento where the temp goes over 100 frequently. Also, plugs looked "normal" (brownish-gray deposits, except looked more worn out than they should have for the mileage).

Also, the guy who I found to do the head really is an artist. He came highly recommended by a friend who owns a BMW/Porsche shop as "the best aluminum welder I've ever seen." He was proud to show me his shop and work in progress (mostly BMW & Porsche with a few Benz,Saab,and Volvo)while BSing for awhile. Harlan Nichos at Nichols and Sons in downtown Sacramento, for any locals who need head work. Not cheap, but fair.
