By 'vacuum disconnected', do you mean disconnect the vacuum advance on the distributor from its vacuum tube? Also, and this is going to sound REAL dumb :) , is cylinder one the one closest to the firewall, or closest to the radiator?
Also, my crankshaft pulley has marks like this:
10 |||| 0 |||| 10 |||| 20 |||| 30
Is it correct that the '0' is TDC, everything to the right of the zero is BEFORE TDC (BTDC), and everything to the left of the zero is AFTER TDC (ATDC)? BTW, what would you need to see the ATDC for? Just included for clarity?
