interchanging starters? 200 92

the starter in my 92 240dl is currently going bad, however i have a 81 volvo for parts with a good starter, i know volvo kept most things pretty standard, for the run of the 240 series, but does anyone know if this holds true for the starters. cause if it does i would like to just interchange them. thanks.
