My 1971 (manufacture date January 1971) is white with no tach, no rally dash, overdrive, black (leather?)and gray houndstooth (wool?) upholstery, and brown carpet. I can tell it was repainted once but the color under the peeling area is white also. Unfortunately, the engine was a basket case when I got it but I'm not sure all the pieces were in the basket. The owner drove it until a piston broke, and died (probably not cause and effect. Then it was sold at auction to an army civil service mechanic who I assume did the engine teardown. He sold it ($400) to a friend of mine who had owned a 122 and a 142 previously. His plan was to rebuild the engine and use it to tow behind his motorhome. It sat for eight years beside his shop in our lovely Puget Sound rain. My friend gave it to me a little over a year ago. My hobby is reviving dead clunkers. This is somewhat beyond the clunker category but I doubt it is rare enough to be move from the revive category into the restore category.
I bought a 1975 245 that was running okay but rusted out etc. for a donor engine. When I realized I'd have to change heads to use the electonic injection (heared air valve hardware beside water outlet at front side) I decided to go low budget and install the K-jet system. That may be low budget but poses challenges. In the middle of that another clunker (a Taurus, no I'm not very selective) was forced on me and my Christmas 2000 holidays were lost. So my 142e sat for another year until I got laid off this December. Now my days and nights are spent pondering wiring diagrams in Haynes and Chiltons. Haynes doesn't have the 245, ends with the 1974 K-jet 140s and Chilton's has schematic rather than true wiring diagrams.
Anyway, add another color to the list and different upholstery. Also, apologies to any purists.
