So my car left me stranded for the first time tonight after more than a year of ownership. Thankfully it was only about a mile from my house. I had just finished getting my car driveable after hitting a deer on Monday and just wanted to take it for a test drive to make sure everything was alright. Obviously it wasn't. Going around a corner the damn thing shut off, no lights, no power steering, no power brakes. Coming off of the positive terminal on the battery there is a main harness that straps on the terminal bolt. It is not the red power cable. It broke off right at the terminal leaving most of the bracket. I believe this was because there was no slack on all those wires and the impact from nailing the deer caused the battery to shift breaking the bracket most of the way and then hitting a bump tonight pushed it past it's limits. How do I fix this? If I peel back some of that black sheathing could I take off the old metal connector/bracket thing and replace it? Sorry about my ignorance on the name of these parts but hopefully you know what I'm talking about. Thanks for all the help.
