Well, the alternator was definitely shot, at least according to the bench test. They hypothesized that when the diodes gave out the voltage regulator was surged into oblivion -- I'll test it. What are the other possibilities?

Thanks for all your help. If this keeps up, I'll drive over a few states to being you a six-pack.
