every 50K miles or 2 years is the max for a tune up. Parts alone (OEM) run about $100ish. Try fcpgroton.com for good prices. If you do the timing and the belts, add another $50 in parts. I've never gotten a tune up done by a mechanic, I sure it's about 1 labor and 1.5-2.5 hours for the timing belt. Get an estimate.
If I were in your place I would do the basic tune up yourself. It's not that hard. You'll need an 8mm box wrench to take off the distributor cap. It's straight forward but take your time.
