Generator or regulator or ? 120-130

A generator is fine as long as you don't add any modern conveniences like halogen driving lights, fog lights, premium sound system, electric radiator fan, etc. I did and was forced to convert to a high amp alternator. Now my cars electrical system is happy and I never see the glow of that red dash light.
