FIX it! I did it by my own self with Sears tools. Get yourself a good Haynes manual (removing the head off a 240 is the same as a 740= same engine). It will take you about a week's worth of evenings to remove the head,take it to a machine shop,get it redone and reintall it.
Or just take it to a good volvo mechanic.
My 89 740 purrs like new now.
Can't wait for the summer to do my 240's head also.
