AC Why is 134a the standard.???????

R134a is more "enviro friendly" than R12 as it is CFC-free.
Or so sez the EPA.

Any competent A/C tech. will tell you that freon is actually capable of producing a colder charge than 134a. So, no, it isn't better. It's merely another example of "too much government."
