Testing Strarter 700 1990

Hi again,

Yeap.. Its me again. I believe I have posted a method to test the starter. But just in case you have missed it here it is again..

Are you sure its the starter and not the gear position switch or problem with the key switch or fuses or something like that?

To make sure that the current is flowing through all the above switches and gadgets (before ariving at the starter solenoid) pull out the green wire that connects to the starter solenoid. Use a test light and test it out by grounding to the car the negative wire on the test light. Ask somebody to crank the engine. If the test light lights up then your starter (or solenoid) is bad. It is easier than trying to figure out how to connect the cable straight from the battery. The spade terminal is where the green wire connect to at the solenoid.
