Maybe, maybe not. It all depends on the wholesaler/jobber who you want to buy the R12 from. Virtually none of them will give you any problem with the 20lb canisters of 12....at $700-900 who would?! But if you try to buy one or two 16oz cans they may well see through the wannabee even if you have a cert. If you have trouble with one supplier, find another. Buy a set of refrigerant gauges from him and an electronic leak detector too.
