Was I ripped off? 700 1988

Hi Steven, Just a few points for the U.S. readers.
Labour here in aus goes from $50.00 an hour to the rediculous $75.00 and for U.S. to Aussie currency converions roughly $1 US = 0.50 Aus.
Steven, the work sounds like it was par for the course and just about all makes sense apart from the genuine pads although there are many arguments on this stuff depending on driving habits and local availability.
A few questions for you.
Did you get a Volvo dealer to do it?
what state are you in , in Aus ?
300,000 Km for an Aussie 700 isnt bad have you always owned it?
Labour rate BTW goes to compensate the amount of equipment as well as the acumulated knowledge of the workshop.
In conclusion the job doesnt sound over priced, the only sticking point is if the work was unauthorised and as someone mentioned in an earlier post dont ask but TELL your workshop what you want fixed and mention that if they have any other concerns they need to call you before putting a spanner to it.Most will do this quite happily and those that dont just drive away from.(that way there is NO confusion)
Regards,
Tony
