It is something that could go out of adjustment after a while because the cable will stretch. The easiest way to check the adjustment is to have someone get in the car, take the floormat out, puch the acclerator to the floor (without the car running) the cable for the trans should have no or VERY little travel left. Basically at full throttle, that cable has to be pulled all the way out, with out forcing anything. If its still got a weird shift, you can try slacking the cable a little bit. I had to do this on my AW71 with 170,000miles. I finally put in an m-46 and said screw it. The trans still shifted well, a little firm but it did not slip or bang through the gears. I still have it in fact. But in my personal opinion, the car is much more fun to drive with a stick. And the swap only cost me 700$. And 8 hours of my time on my drive way. Theres got to be something to be said for simplicity. The sweeds did good with volvo...but saab is another question.
