Dashboard lights 700

I have a 88' 745 turbo and have replaced all four of the bulbs in the dash. Two were burnt out when I bought the car. I think they are p/n 168 or p/n 194. I used these red ones, they do look red, but not bright enough for my liking. I can't even read the resettable odometer at night even though its on max light. I used to own a 2001 VW Golf GL TDI and loved the illumination. Hard to duplicate it in a car 13 years older :(
