Considering a (used) Volvo...

David:

I half agree with you. The Japanese are indeed more reliable, but I found that well-maintained Volvos are still pretty reliable, definitely more so than US cars or Saabs for example.

As you point out Volvo are safe. I would add that they are also extremely durable. The combination means that it makes more sense to me to drive Volvos than anything else, with the possible exception of a Mercedes.

If I can find a very good 500 SE/SEL I might replace the 940, but keep the 745 wifemobile.
