122S valve adjustment HELP PLEASE! 120-130

Do you think I'm asking for trouble by setting my
164's valves to .022/.023" with the motor warm?
Oddly, the car doesn't clatter much more than before.
(Hope it isn't trouble because I set the valves then
drove 500 miles at high speeds...)
