The article in Grassroots Motorsports was great. It's in the $5/10/15K car issue. A new one just came out, but won't be on newsstands for a few weeks.

My personal experience has been with Crane ignition. I have both the XR700 as available from ipd and the X3000 in D-jet cars and both are just fine. Best price is likely from Crane themselves, or so I've heard. I got the X3000 from ebay. I'll never touch points again. I hope... (Having said this, one of my Crane boxes will catch fire this evening, I'm sure)

If you're really concerned about originality, I think most of the Pertronix set-up fits in the distributor body and looks quite original. I've never used it personally.
