164E heating 140-160 1975

You could have an air bubble in your head and also maybe like
John says, no vent in your thermostat.
Also your temperature gauge's voltage regulator could be shorted which
will make your gas gauge and temp gauge both read high.
(Careful you don't run out of gas!)
