vibration during acceleration 700 1989

I have an '89 740 and it has started having a vibration that is very loud inside the car during acceleration. The car performs well, but the vibration is a killer. It seems to have something to do with the drive shaft or rear end, but I'm just guessing. Can anyone tell me where to start looking first?
