well, close to the timing belt... you're referring to the balance shaft tensioner pulley... the original is plastic, the new one is metal and wider (you'll need the longer bolt, available at the dealer for like $2)... I had switched mine with an aftermarket (febi-bilstien) one... the original did have some play in it, even at 83,000 miles
