starting problems 1800 1972

i just went through this drill with my 72 ES. If your's is fuel injected, you could check the "cold start injector". Its attached to the top of the intake manifold with two phillips screws or 2 allen bolts, with wires attached. Just remove it from the manifold and with a tester, check to see if it will pulse or click when you touch it elect power. If it doesn't, you can get a used one from a junk yard (mine came from a 71 144 with fuel injection- $5) or a new one for about $90. If it does click and you hold your face right, you can just clean it with carb cleaner or equivalent and reinstall. Let me know if you need a used one and I'll see if I can find one. Jim
