It probably says that it is a Volvo application only because it is used in the rear axle. Most other Dana 30 applications are for the front axle of Jeeps, where it would be rotating in the opposite direction. I forget which is called "reverse rotation", whether it is the front or rear.

For a clutch type LSD, rotation direction would not matter, but it does matter for the TrueTrack.
