Timing gear question 120-130

I didn't try a magnet. The crank gear was steel or at least it
was of some metal that was more dense than the cam gear and a
darker color. The crank gear and the cam gear weighed almost the
same.

My silly metal gear is slient, or at least the clatter of the
rest of my bucket of bolts covers the cam gear noise.
