manalo,

you perfectly described my experience with a 91 240 sedan with 165k. I have done EVERYThING to try and eliminate the occasional NEAR STALL syndrome, but no luck. Only one more option, changing the intake manifold gasket. But, me thinks that a leak there would not be intermittent and would have gotten worse by now.
