Well I guess with the symptoms you describe it must be the tranny. Not sure where that mechanic acquires his info though. Don't flush?? (my mother told me to always flush) not changing the fluid??? Don't use synthetic??? His advice seems to go against Volvo specs and all acquired knowledge here at the Brickboard. my delayed shifting smoothed out and overdrive started working after converting to synthetic.
