Thanks for the insight. As for summer tires, I highly suggest you take a look at the Dunlop Sport A2s.
I went in fairly blind and my tire guy (very good, used him for years) hooked me with a set this past spring. Absolutely phenomenal tire. I've driven my 1985 745t through mountain passes under hurricane like conditions at about high speed and never even worried. The best comment I can make is that the Dunlops stick in thos conditions where you usually feel your tire is about to let go. They are also amazongly quiet, and are tough to boot. And you get all that performance for about $75 a tire...
