See my reply to your separate question about this split hose.
Upon further thought, is this the hose that crosses over the top of the engine from the passenger side, front of the turbo ( from a sort of vacuum or EGR looking item)?
If *this* is the hose you mean, it attatched to a plastic "Y" nipple mounted on top of an "S" shaped formed hose whichgoes down to the oil separator box. (No flame trap on turbos, but this "Y" fitting is at the same location)
MY PO used 5/8" orange heater hose and wire tie'd some foam insulating material
around it. Looks stupid. He had to use band clamps on everything.
IMPORTANT**
Check that "Y" nipple AND the oil box for clogging which could be causing PCV backpressure. (Mine had oil blowing out of the valve cover!) That could be the source of oil film inside your intercooler and the ductwork.
IOW, don't just assume the turbo blew its bearing.
