That's what I thought and made a small mess before draining the pan fluid!

I'm glad I had a rag over the top trans line and cooler outlet. My brother who was watching and saying it wasn't going to work says that there is about 80psi in those lines. Not a system I'm familiar with. If the fluid comes up through the cooler and out then it will flush the cooler. I've read that doing a home flush doesn't flush the cooler. I definitely understand your confusion.
