Simple Alternator Check.

When you hear the squeal again, drop off electrical load and see if the noise changes. Drop headlights, heater fan, and any other heavy current user. Just a few seconds. If the noise drops check the belt tension and then the condition of the brushes and slip rings.

Good Luck,

Bob
