It Has to be the EFI Control unit 140-160 1973

Roscoe, Had a customers car about a yr. ago that I did all the things that you did...still the problem came back. A fellow tech who specialized in aircooled VW's, suggested that I pull the ECU and scrub the P.C. board on the end, that the connector pushes onto, with a new pencil eraser... the copper fingers on the board end looked clean, but I did it anyway. The problem is gone, I didn't believe it, but it is still running.
I might add that the humidity is high, where this individual lives. Tom
