Safety 140-160 1974

No....don't have a rating. But...the crashworthyness of any 140/160 series is superb by today's standards. Just wear your seatbelt.

Might not be as good as some of the modern high $$$ new Volvo/Mercedes/Audi stuff with airbags... but past that, you won't find much better except *maybe* a Volvo 240.

I'd trust my firstborn in a 30 year old Volvo much more than in a brand new [reader fill in the manufacturer] anyday. The 140/160 series have amazingly strong roofs. Big steel bars in the doors. Excellent crumple zones that direct the engine under the passenger compartment if need be. Etc...etc...etc. Just wear your seatbelt.

And drive safely.
